Your bridge to the auditor.
No stress, no chasing.
We sit between you and your audit firm. Every schedule is extracted, reconciled and delivered in the format auditors expect, every query is tracked and answered, and every auditor call is handled by someone who has run audits from the other side. Your team keeps running the business.
You approve. We do the rest.
- Extracting ledgers, reports and supporting documents
- Preparing lead schedules and reconciliations
- Managing the auditor's request list
- Answering queries and joining auditor calls
- Reviewing proposed adjustments before you agree them
Most audit delays start on the client side
Audits overrun when information arrives late, incomplete or in the wrong shape. Each delay means more auditor hours, a higher fee and more of your team's time. We remove the causes before fieldwork begins.
| The usual problem | What it costs you | How we fix it |
|---|---|---|
| Requests arrive late | Fieldwork stalls and the timetable slips | We agree the request list early and deliver against it on a shared tracker |
| Data in the wrong format | Auditors rework files, adding hours to the fee | We extract data in clean, filterable Excel that ties to the ledger |
| The same question asked twice | Management time pulled into repeated calls | One query log, one owner, every answer documented |
| Missing support for samples | Testing extended or exceptions raised | We pull invoices, contracts and payment evidence to agreed turnaround times |
| Surprise adjustments at the end | Late changes to the accounts and difficult conversations | We review the books before the audit and challenge proposed adjustments with you |
One point of contact between you and your audit firm
You give us access and approve the key decisions. We do the preparation and the conversations. Your auditor receives complete, indexed files and a single, informed contact.

From year end close to signed accounts
Plan and prepare
We run an audit readiness review, complete the year end close, clear reconciling items and agree the timetable and request list with your auditor. Known issues are raised early, not discovered during fieldwork.
Deliver and respond
We deliver every requested schedule, keep a daily query log, pull support for each sample, and prepare for process walkthroughs. We attend auditor calls and bring in the directors only where their input is needed.
Finalise and sign
We review proposed audit adjustments with you, update the financial statements and disclosures, and prepare a draft letter of representation for the directors to review and sign.
Improve for next year
We draft management responses to any points in the auditor's management letter, agree an action plan and roll the files forward, so next year's audit is quicker and cheaper.
Everything extracted, reconciled and in the auditor's format
Each file is prepared from your ledger, tied to the trial balance, indexed to the auditor's request list and saved in a shared, organised folder. The exact list depends on your business and your auditor's plan.

We prepare and support. Your auditor audits.
UK rules keep the people who prepare your accounts separate from the people who audit them. That separation protects you and the credibility of your accounts.
- We are not your auditor. Your audit is carried out by an independent registered audit firm of your choice.
- Directors stay responsible. The directors approve and sign the financial statements and the letter of representation.
- You approve what is shared. No file or answer goes to the auditor without your sign off.
- Honest challenge. We explain each proposed adjustment and challenge it where the evidence supports your position. The opinion remains the auditor's decision.
When audit support makes the biggest difference
First year audits
Your company has grown past the small company limits, or investors now require an audit. We set up the files and processes from scratch.
UK subsidiaries
Group auditors send instructions and deadlines from overseas. We deliver the local reporting pack and audit files to their timetable.
Lean finance teams
Your team is too busy to manage an audit on top of the day job. We take the workload so business as usual keeps running.
Difficult past audits
Last year ran late, over budget or ended with many adjustments. We fix the root causes before the next one starts.
Changing auditors
A new audit firm needs prior year support and an understanding of your business. We make the handover smooth.
Fundraising and sale
Investors or buyers want audited accounts or due diligence. We prepare the numbers to that standard.
Choose the support you need
A fixed fee agreed before we start, based on the size of your business and your auditor's request list.
Audit readiness review
A health check of your books and processes ahead of the audit.
- Review of key balances and reconciliations
- List of likely audit issues and fixes
- Year end close checklist and timetable
Full audit support
We act as your bridge from planning to signed accounts.
- Every schedule and reconciliation prepared
- Request list and query log managed
- Auditor calls and walkthroughs handled
- Adjustments, disclosures and draft representation letter
- Weekly status updates
Query support
For teams that prepare the files but need help with the audit itself.
- Query log management
- Sample support and evidence gathering
- Technical accounting answers
We have sat on the auditor's side of the table
As an Audit Manager at a leading global accounting firm and an Audit Senior at a Big Four firm, our founder planned audits, wrote request lists and reviewed client files. We know what auditors ask for, why they ask, and what makes them comfortable.
- We speak auditor. Files prepared the way audit teams test them, which means fewer follow up questions.
- Technical depth. UK GAAP, IFRS, US GAAP and Ind AS, including IFRS 18 for 2027 audits.
- Group audits. Experience with group instructions, reporting packs and component audits.
- Compliance included. We can file the audited accounts and CT600 as part of our compliance service.
Common questions about audit support
Will our auditor accept you as the main contact?
Yes. Audit firms regularly work with an external accountant acting for the client. You confirm our role in writing to the auditor at the start, and the directors remain available for the matters only they can answer.
Can you sign the letter of representation?
No. The letter of representation must be signed by the directors. We prepare a draft, explain each statement and check it is supported by the evidence before you sign.
What access do you need?
Usually read access to your accounting system, bank statements and a shared folder for documents. We ask only for what the audit needs, and you can remove access when it finishes.
Our audit has already started. Can you still help?
Yes. We can take over the request list and query log mid audit, catch up on outstanding items and get the timetable back on track.
Do you work with any audit firm?
Yes. We work alongside audit firms of every size, from local practices to large international networks, and with group auditors overseas.
Will audit support reduce our audit fee?
Auditors often charge extra when information is late or incomplete. Complete, well organised files reduce that risk, but the audit fee itself is agreed between you and your auditor.
Do you carry out the statutory audit?
No. Ease Finance prepares and supports. Your audit is carried out by an independent registered audit firm, which keeps the preparer and the auditor separate.
