What is changing

Three changes UK businesses need to act on now

18 Nov 2026

Companies House identity verification deadline

Every existing director and person with significant control must have verified their identity by this date. New directors must verify before they are appointed. We can check your company's status and guide each director through verification.

1 Jan 2027

IFRS 18 comes into force

Every IFRS reporter must present the income statement in five new categories, with restated 2026 comparatives. Read our IFRS 18 guide.

April 2026 to 2028

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax

Sole traders and landlords must keep digital records and send quarterly updates to HMRC. It started in April 2026 for gross income above £50,000, extends to above £30,000 from April 2027 and above £20,000 from April 2028.
